Clippers broke
I planned on giving myself a haircut today, but about 10% of the way through my clippers stopped working... I took them apart and cleaned them out, but when I put them back together they would run for about 5 seconds and stop. I dunno what happened, but I had to go and get a haircut at the only place I knew (the mall) and it cost freakin' $20... I should have gotten the shampoo... they charged me for it, but I thought when I said "no" that meant it cost less... silly me...

Who comes here?
Since I started participating in photo friday my non-USA visitors have exploded... Although I'm surprised to find that I don't have any visitors from South America yet... especially considering that when I was using fotopages almost half the sites I saw were from Brazil (or so it seemed). Outside of one Tunisian and one Egyptian visit, Africa has also pretty much missed out on this wonderful site...

Recently Finished:
- New Seeds of Contemplation, Thomas Merton
- Divine Conspiracy, Dallas Wilard
- Dark Night of the Soul, St. John of the Cross
- Killing the Buddah, These Guys
I have been working on the first two since this summer, and I read the last two in the last couple of weeks... There were also some seminar and tutorial readings strewn in there, but none of them were whole books.
I'm now working on Go Down, Moses by Faulkner and Chesterton's The Ballad of the White Horse both of which are really good. (I have to read "The Bear" from Go Down, Moses anyway, so I figured I'd read the whole thing.)

Book of Days
I found a neat new book, the Oxford Book of Days. It has all sorts of events that occur on each day of the year. Most specifically it lists the saints days and a little about their lives. It also has the dates of great historical battles (Hastings, to Pearl Harbor.) I couldn't find a good link for it, but you can find it on Amazon...
